Community members, businesses and organisations from Neath Port Talbot are invited to join the inaugural It’s Your Neath Port Talbot event, which takes place at Margam Orangery on September 20.
It’s Your Neath Port Talbot is a free, day-long forum including talks, conversations, and opportunities to share ideas on how to create a brighter future for the county. It’s also a showcase and networking opportunity for local businesses and organisations.
Speakers include Member of the Senedd (MS) for Neath Jeremy Miles, Mark Rudge, commercial partnerships director, Acorn by Synergie, Luciana Ciubotariu, chief executive, Celtic Freeport, and Alice Jones, public affairs manager, ABP.
The event is organised by 4theRegion, an organisation working to create positive change throughout Neath Port Talbot, Swansea, Carmarthenshire, and Pembrokeshire. It is a new event for Neath Port Talbot inspired by the success of 4theRegion’s recent It’s Your Swansea and It’s Your Carmarthenshire events.
Dawn Lyle, chair of 4theRegion, said:
“This is a timely event for Neath Port Talbot because this is a period of change and uncertainty for the county, especially with the closure of the blast furnaces at Tata Steel. We're very pleased to have representatives from Celtic Freeport and ABP to discuss potentially game-changing developments for the local economy, as well as voices from other key local businesses and organisations.
“The event is not just for businesses; members of the community are also invited to attend and contribute to all the discussions, which are centred around eight zones including food and farming, transport, climate and nature, health and wellbeing, community action, and more. This is about cross-pollination and forging connections across all sectors of the community, from rural to urban.
“We can promise you an interesting, insightful day full of opportunities to have your say, and help build a vision for the future of Neath Port Talbot.”
Jeremy Miles MS said:
“I’m very pleased to be speaking at this important new event for Neath Port Talbot. It’s a valuable opportunity to unite people, businesses and organisations for constructive discussions about how to shape the county’s future.”
Mark Rudge, commercial partnerships director, Acorn by Synergie, said:
“I am honoured to be invited to contribute to this inaugural Neath Port Talbot event. I look forward to connecting with like-minded individuals and businesses and helping to support the future of the region.”
Divisional port manager for ABP Ashley Curnow added:
“Associated British Ports is delighted to be speaking at this event and discussing our exciting plans to make Port Talbot a major hub for floating offshore wind and green energy development.”
