Monmouthshire Housing Association (MHA) is bringing affordable home ownership to Monmouth at the new King’s Wood Gate development.

As part of the final phase of the development, five 2- and 3-bedroom homes will be available to buy this year, starting from £102,500 for a 50% share through the Welsh Government’s popular Homebuy (also known as shared equity) scheme.

The scheme is intended to help those who can access and afford a mortgage but are unable to purchase a property on the open market, by providing an equity loan to fund part of the of the property purchase price to someone buying a new home through MHA.

David, who purchased a home at King’s Wood Gate through the scheme, said:

“As my kids have recently moved out I wanted to downsize, but it’s become so expensive to buy a house in Monmouthshire.”

“Because of the Homebuy scheme I’ve been able to move into a brand new home that meets all my needs and I’m paying significantly less than I was on rent every month. It’s such a good deal.”

“The home itself is fabulous. It’s spacious and the two bedrooms are both of a really good size. All the fittings are of an excellent quality and it’s brilliantly energy efficient. It’s the perfect location for me and the new nature reserve area offers great walks on my doorstep.

“I really am grateful for MHA’s low cost home ownership scheme – it’s changed my life.”

King’s Wood Gate offers the perfect mix of scenic countryside living with all the benefits of a thriving town nearby.
