St Tydfil Shopping Centre has launched a Harvest Festival and is asking the local community to show its support by giving food items to the Donation Station, located in the Indoor Market. All donations will then be passed on to those in need in the Merthyr community.

Non-perishable items of food, such as tins and dried goods, can be dropped off at the Donation Station. Additionally, toiletries and items of clothing are always welcome.

Julie Calderbank, Operations Manager at St Tydfil Shopping Centre, commented:

“Our Harvest Festival is aimed at supporting those in our community who need a bit of extra help. We know how generous Merthyr people are, so in advance we would like to thank everyone who donates.”

The Donation Station distributes food, clothing and blankets to the homeless and less fortunate in the Merthyr area. It also offers a ‘walk in’ breakfast and dinner scheme in association with The Market Café and central bus station café.
