The Trefeddian Hotel in Aberdyfi, which was brought to market with a guide price of £7.5 million, has been sold to an international group which is seeking to expand its hospitality presence in the UK.
The sale was handled by Colliers’ specialist Hotels team.
Set in an elevated position overlooking Cardigan Bay, the Trefeddian was family-owned for more than 115 years.
The 59-bedroom hotel, accompanied by two five-star self-catering properties, features a wide range of leisure amenities including a tennis court, putting green, extensive guest lounges and dining areas, as well as an indoor swimming pool and spa bath with stunning views of the coastline.

The new owners plan to maintain the Trefeddian’s strong reputation while exploring opportunities to further enhance the guest experience.
Peter Brunt, Director in the Hotels Agency team at Colliers, said:
“The Trefeddian is a truly exceptional property, combining history, location, and quality in a way very few hotels can. Interest came from a wide range of buyer profiles, but the overseas purchaser stood out for their clear vision and strong commitment to investing in the UK hospitality sector.
“With its unmatched location on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park and just outside the charming village of Aberdyfi, the Trefeddian continues to attract a loyal guest base from across the UK and beyond.”
