As an independent Welsh publishing business, the team behind Business News Wales have distributed over 40,000 of the UK’s top B2B news stories since 2012, all within the technology, Human Resources and Recruitment markets. We have a proven track record of growing market reach for over 150 different UK and International businesses over the last 4 years.
The business has enjoyed a remarkable growth period and is now looking to expand its team with the addition of a Head of Content and Media to start January 17.
Scope of Job
We are now looking for an ambitious Head of Content and Media to action a wide variety of content, editorial and account management tasks. We are looking for an enthusiastic team player who is has a strong desire to succeed. You daily tasks will include:
CONTENT MANAGEMENT
- Forward planning of features and interviews, highlighting and prioritising content opportunities
- Establish and maintain strong relations with PR agencies – liaising with them directly on forward features
- Can proofread copy, checking spelling and grammar
- Keep up to date with industry news across all business sectors and regions
- Manage and source a network of freelance contributors
ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT
- Build and cement client relationships
- Assist clients in building their content strategy (strategy if no PR representation)
- Setting targets and KPI’s for clients
- Produce monthly reports for clients
- Have a sound understanding of client’s products and services, their target audience and their competitor’s activities
- Ability to work on several campaigns at once, sometimes under pressure and often to tight deadlines
- Promote client content via email, social and the Business News Wales website
- Engage content via social media and have a good understanding of the platforms / tools needed to market client content
- Report to management team a weekly client update

- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent administrative skills including experience in Word

- Tact and discretion, for dealing with confidential information
- A positive ‘can do’ attitude
- Ability to think and write creatively on any issue would be a great advantage
- Good verbal communication skills and an understanding of customers’ needs
- Have the ability to work within with a team

- Demonstrate effective research skills
