Professionals from across Wales united last Thursday at the Brewhouse and Kitchen in Cardiff to launch a new business forum – Professional Insolvency Networking Group, P!NG
Hosted by Grant Thornton and Blake Morgan, P!NG was founded by close business associates Zoe Donovan and Hannah Waters from Grant Thornton, together with Sophia Farmer from Blake Morgan. Spotting a gap in the market for budding young professionals, the trio felt there was a need to bring their peers and contacts together, to broaden future opportunities across the restructuring landscape and develop closer relationships with each other.
Zoe Donovan, Advisory Executive in Grant Thornton’s South Restructuring Team said,
‘We were keen to create an opportunity to bring together a proactive cohort of young dynamic professionals from across the financial services sector. We want to replicate what our bosses and senior management are doing. Our aim is to build a network of individuals who can reach out and connect with each other to share best practices, make introductions and generally swap ideas for support and guidance. We were thrilled with the initial response of almost 50 attendees and we will be working with Blake Morgan to continue to achieve this high level of interest for ongoing events.’
Sophia Farmer, Senior Solicitor at Blake Morgan commented,
’We had a wide variety of attendees including restructuring, finance, legal and insolvency specialists and their feedback was encouraging. Our guests appreciated the time and opportunity to network and discuss the latest issues having an impact in the restructuring market with their peers.’
Grant Thornton and Blake Morgan provide a valuable service to distressed companies and are recognised experts who work with insolvency practitioners, funders, debtors, creditors, business stakeholders and individuals on the management and recovery of debt and assets.
