Roads in and around the city centre will be affected for the next three days to set up for the event, facilitate the event and take the equipment down.
Today between 7.00pm and 10.00pm Castle Street, Duke Street, Kingsway and North Road to its junction with Boulevard de Nantes will be closed as they set up for the event. On Saturday, a full road closure will be in place in Cardiff City Centre from 12 Noon until 8.00pm
With over 30 000 people expected to attend this prestigious event, the Authorities are advising all those that plan to visit for the city centre for the event, or to go shopping to plan their journey in advance.
Full City Centre road closure from 12 Noon until 8.00pm:
• Kingsway from its junction with North Road to its junction with Duke Street.
• Cowbridge Road East from its junction with Cathedral Road to its junction with Westgate Street.
• Tudor Street from its junction with Clare Road to its junction with Wood Street (access for residents & traders will be permitted via Fitzhammon Embankment.)
• Plantagenet Street and Beauchamp Street from their junctions with Despenser Place to their junctions with Tudor Street (access for residents & traders will be permitted.)
• The following roads will be closed in their entirety: – Duke Street, Castle St, High Street, St Mary Street, Caroline Street, Wood Street, Central Square, Westgate Street, Quay Street, Guildhall Place, Golate, Park Street, Havelock Street and Scott Road.
Lower St Mary Street is expected to re-open at 2.00pm
• Lower St Mary Street, at the junction with Custom House Street through to Wood Street and over Wood Street Bridge is expected to re-open at 2.00pm.
City Centre roads will reopen between 8.00pm and 8.30pm – but Boulevard de Nantes will close until 10.00pm:
• Roads in the City Centre, including Castle Street are expected to re-open between 8.00pm and 8.30pm. When this happens, Boulevard de Nantes – both directions from the junction with North Road to Park Place – will close to facilitate the event at City Hall.
Trains
The mainline trains between Cardiff Central Station and Newport Station will not be running from midnight tonight until early Monday morning. Replacement bus services will be put in operation by Network Rail. This is to allow Network Rail to demolish Beresford Road Bridge and other bridges near Newport for the electrification of the railway to allow for greener, faster trains to Cardiff.

Park and Ride – Pentwyn
There will not be event Park & Ride for this event but normal parking park and ride will be available during the daytime. This facticity will close at 7.00pm as usual.

For those planning to come to Cardiff for the day event, we advise visitors to use public transport, or for those that are travelling by car to use the Park & Ride facility at Pentwyn.
Those planning to come to Cardiff for the evening event
The Park & Ride facility will close at 7.00pm, so those that plan to come to Cardiff for the evening event are advised to use public transport. Alternatively, if visitors are traveling by car to use the city centre car parks which are located at:

NCP – Adam Street, Dumfries Place and Greyfriars Road
National Express – National Express coaches will use Sophia Gardens as usual. Sophia Gardens can be used for visitor parking on a first come first serve basis.

Buses – will be diverted out of the central city centre bus stops. Bus displaced from stops within the closure will relocate to either Churchill Way for the East. Greyfriars Road for the North or Tudor Street for the West. Please visit www.cardiffbus.co.uk for more information.
Taxis – St Mary Street taxi rank (outside the House of Frazer), Mill Lane and the rank outside Prince of Wales will be closed until 8pm.
The taxi ranks on Greyfriers Road and Churchill Way will not be affected by the road closures.
