Tony has a wealth of senior experience within the Welsh media sector, having previously worked as the Managing Director at Real Radio and South West Wales Media, and publisher of the South Wales Evening Post.

Commenting on his appointment, Tony Dowling said;

“Having worked in almost all areas of Welsh media, very rarely have I come across a business that is consistently ahead of the market and has so much potential for high growth. At a time when audience shifts are occurring at an unprecedented pace, the ability to move quickly has become essential.

The team behind Business News Wales has distributed over 40,000 of the UK’s top B2B news stories since 2012, and have a proven track record of growing market reach for over 150 different UK and International businesses. This ability to continually reinvent themselves throughout such a changing digital landscape really excites me.

Increasing revenues and audience will be my number one focus. Whilst securing the required investment to enable the business model to multiply into a range of other niche titles.”

Commenting on the new appointment founder, Mark Powney said;

“I’m so proud to welcome Tony to our Business News Wales family. The media experience Tony will bring to the team demonstrates our ambition to reinvent a declining media sector in Wales which has created a hot pool of talent which will add further layers of expertise into the business.

As a growing Welsh media business, this acquisition will strengthen our commitment to grow market and commercial share, and enable us to roll out our model into other UK regions.

Surrounding yourself with people who have more experience is one of the biggest steps any business owner can make. In Tony, we have an asset that has a proven track record in building high growth media businesses. Watch this space!”
