Estate Agent Appeals for More Mid Wales Properties to Satisfy Demand

An estate agent is appealing for more Mid Wales properties to market as demand is currently outstripping supply.

James Evans, a director of Halls who manages the company’s Welshpool office, said:

“There is a lot of frustrated purchasing power out there waiting for the right property.

“I am frequently talking to property owners who tell me they are delaying selling their own home because there is nothing suitable on the market for them to buy. It’s a bit of a chicken and egg situation and demand is currently outstripping supply.

“The properties that are selling best are rural homes and those with land and that applies across the whole price range. Properties that are priced correctly are selling very swiftly.”

Mr Evans says now is the right time of the year to be marketing homes for sale and he is happy to speak to prospective vendors across Mid Wales.

“Buyer demand is much stronger than this time last year, probably helped by lenders being more competitive and bank interest rates being stable despite the negativity in some quarters about Brexit.”
