The Dementias Platform UK (DPUK) has today launched their Data Portal – a secure research environment, using the latest privacy preserving methods to provide researchers with high quality information and tools to facilitate collaborative research.

The DPUK is a Medical Research Council (MRC) funded, £53 million collaborative research project between universities, including Swansea University Medical School, and pharmaceutical companies, which is designed to fast-track scientific understanding, treatments and the prevention of the dementias.

Among the Data Portal tools is the Cohort Finder, which allows cohort descriptions to be easily searched in order to identify and confirm topics for dementia research from over 30 well-established UK population, or cohort studies.
