CYBER - A National Voice for Cyber Resilience

Podcast Series

Welcome to CYBER – the podcast that explores the people, places, and purpose behind Wales’ emergence as one of the UK’s most dynamic and collaborative cyber ecosystems.

In this series, we shine a light on the innovators, educators, entrepreneurs and institutions shaping Wales’ cyber future, from university labs and tech startups to government partnerships and global alliances.

We’ll uncover how Wales is forging international collaborations, training the next generation of cyber professionals, and creating a national model for unity in a fragmented digital landscape. And we’ll hear from the individuals and businesses, large and small, who are powering this progress every day.

This is Cyber, the story of Wales’ cyber journey, told by the people building it.

Episode One:

Cyber Wales: The Heart and Voice of Cyber in Wales

Welcome to the very first episode of the CYBER Podcast, where we explore the people, partnerships and purpose driving one of the UK’s most vital cyber ecosystems.

In this opening episode, we take you inside Cyber Wales - a uniquely collaborative network and Community Interest Company that has become the national platform for cyber security across Wales. Representing a sector that is growing in both strategic importance and global reputation, Cyber Wales brings together academia, industry, government and innovators with one clear purpose: to make Wales a powerhouse in cyber resilience and digital trust.

Joining us to share the story behind Cyber Wales, its mission, and its growing global impact are two of the key figures shaping its success:
John Davies MBE, Co-Founder and Chair of Cyber Wales and
Leanne Davies, Principal Lecturer in Cyber Security and Computing at Wrexham University and Cluster Manager at Cyber Wales.

Together, they discuss how Wales has built a united cyber community, the importance of collaboration across regions and sectors, and why the Welsh approach is now being recognised far beyond its borders.
