Community Pub Share Offer Raises £35,600 by the End of Week One

The organisers of the community share offer to purchase the Tafarn Sinc pub in Rosebush have been astounded by the public response to the campaign for purchasing the well known iconic pub.

Cris Tomos of PLANED community development, who are supporting the campaign explained:

“Following the public meeting on the 12th of July the cheques and bank payments have been flooding in” Cris added “The printed copies of the share pledge forms are now out and about and it is hoped that more local people will have a chance to part own this important community asset”

There are now plans in place to visit similar community pub ventures from across the county. A great example is Tafarn Tyn-y-capel, near Wrexham.

Cris concluded:

“We hope to arrange a bus full of people to visit well established community pubs to ensure we follow the best practise. Also we are investigating the HMRC tax incentive for investors, where under the Enterprise Investment Scheme other assets purchased through community shares, are able to show investors how they can claim back 30% on a tax relief scheme”

Anyone interested in purchasing a share pledge can visit  or call in one of the following shops now distributing the share offer documentation. Clunderwen Shop, Caffi Beca, Tafarn Sinc, Siop Glandy Cross, Caffi Garreg Las, Clwb Rygbi Crymych, Maenclochog Hardware, Maenclochog Garage, Awen Teifi, Ken Davies Butcher, Crymych, with additional shops soon to be announced.
