Celtic Manor Launches New Apprentice Programme

The Celtic Manor Resort has launched a new Hotel and Hospitality Apprenticeship Programme as it seeks to train up the next generation of hospitality professionals.

Building on the success of the resort’s trainee management and operational trainee schemes, the new apprenticeship offers a comprehensive two-year programme encompassing all the operational aspects of the hotel and hospitality industry.

Modules will cover food and beverage, conference and banqueting, front of house, housekeeping and kitchens as well as a stint combining all these areas at the resort’s Coldra Court Hotel.

Apprentices will also be given access to a wide range of learning and development courses with subject matter including personal development, teamwork, guest relations, presentation and interview skills.

As the UK’s leading conference resort with almost 600 bedrooms spread across four hotels and 10 Hunter Lodges, Celtic Manor offers the ideal venue to learn every skill required within the industry.

Operations Director Matthew Lewis said:

“This apprenticeship programme is an excellent opportunity for young people looking to make a career in hospitality and wishing to learn all aspects of the industry.

“The Celtic Manor Resort with its wide range of facilities and experienced management team offers the perfect place to gain this comprehensive grounding.

“Working with some of the most energetic and motivational managers in the industry, apprentices will have a hands-on insight into the operation of one of the UK’s busiest and most successful hotels and resorts.

“The resort is constantly expanding and we have a ‘grow our own’ strategy focussed on the development of the next generation of hospitality professionals who will become the managers of the future and help shape the future of the resort.”

Host venue for the 2014 NATO Summit, the Celtic Manor Resort was named Large Employer of the Year at this year’s inaugural Cambrian Training Company Apprenticeship, Employment and Skills Awards.
