Showcasing the Best of Welsh Business

15th January – Cardiff
CBC Event: Liz Nicholl, Chief Executive of UK Sport

Cardiff Business Club’s business is, and always has been, connecting organisations and sharing inspiration via our members and our world class speakers. Established in 1912, our objective has always been simple: to offer an environment where members can connect with decision makers from across the private, public and charitable sectors to support and promote their businesses.

Cardiff Business Club is the leading organisation of its kind in Wales. Founded in Cardiff in 1912 and with HRH The Prince of Wales as its Patron, the Club holds dinners with speakers of international standing to address the members. These events are usually held at either The St David’s Hotel & Spa or The Hilton Hotel in Cardiff between September and June.

Liz Nicholl joined UK Sport in 1999 and has played a pioneering role in the development of the elite sport system in the UK. For ten years Liz led the work of UK Sport’s Performance Directorate, through the Sydney, Athens and Beijing Olympic and Paralympic cycles, as the Director of Elite Sport. Liz became the Chief Operating Officer in 2009 and was then appointed to the CEO role in September 2010. Liz is also a former international netball player, and Chief Executive of England Netball for 16 years, including a period as Championship Director of a World Netball Championship.

The lectures which are given before each dinner are open to all. Membership of the Club entitles individuals to book places for dinner, subject to availability.
