The nominations are in, and we can now announce the finalists for Cardiff Music Awards 2019.

With over 3000 nominations, the 200+ finalists are now confirmed and we can announce the acts that will be in the running on 29th March to win one of over 20 bespoke awards such as Best Group, Best Venue, Best Breakthrough Act, Best Club Night and Outstanding Contribution to name just a few.

The finalists include Boy Azooga for Best Group , MADI for Best Solo Act , Gwdihw for Best Independent Venue and Blue Honey for Best Club Night . Ed Townend, founder & director of the music awards, says

“The shortlist for the music awards this year has a healthy split between recognisable names you hear every week from the people in this scene and then those who have a strong underground following; those that might not have broken through to what we consider the “mainstream”. I love seeing new names I don’t recognise on the shortlist, it means there is always something new out there that’s interesting and well liked.”

The date for the third Cardiff Music Awards and Cardiff’s biggest night for music has been announced as 29th March 2019 and the prestigious event will again be held at Tramshed , one of Cardiff’s largest music venues from 18:00-23:00 . Tickets are just £15 which includes a fresh and fruity free cocktail on entry from Barti Rum, one of the event’s sponsors.

An amazing line up has been confirmed ( CHROMA, MADI, Mace, HANA2K and DJ Jaffa) and the award ceremony will be hosted by Best DJ winners from 2018, GRLTLK. There will also be a street food offering from Little Marakesh who will be serving up delicious Chicken, Lamb and Vegan Shawarma wraps stuffed full of tasty couscous and fresh salad.

Voting is now open and will remain so until 22nd March at midnight, so make sure you cast your all important votes!
