Marketing students at Cardiff Metropolitan University could soon have a competitive advantage as they seek to forge new career paths, following the news that the University has been afforded Accredited Study Centre (ASC) status by the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
A first among Cardiff-based universities, the granting of this prestigious status in professional marketing education allows Cardiff Met to award CIM professional level qualifications to students.
Becoming only the fourth accredited study centre in Wales, the University can provide students with a cutting edge among prospective job candidates – with qualifications from the world’s leading professional marketing body being an immediately recognisable indicator of quality.
On the news that the University has been granted ASC status, Dean of the Cardiff School of Management, David Brooksbank, said:
“I am delighted that the fantastic team of marketing academics here at the School has gained this prestigious accreditation.
“It is precisely this kind of award which sets our School apart and signifies to students that the educational experience we offer is of the highest quality and completely aligned with employer expectations.”
The Chartered Institute of Marketing is one of the most recognisable educational institutes across the globe, having been founded over a century ago and boasting over 28,000 members worldwide.
