Food lovers are in for a treat on Saturday 6 May, when the annual Caerphilly Food Festival returns to the town.
For the fifth year a wide range of traders will fill Caerphilly town centre selling a fantastic range of products including, pickles, preserves, olives, nuts, cakes and alcohol. There’ll also be plenty of hot food and special treats on offer. Spectators can enjoy a number of exciting demonstrations and workshops including children’s cup cake decorating and a special programme of recipes from Broil King BBQ who will be showing how to make pizza on a barbecue, flattened chicken burgers and much more throughout the day.
To mark Wales’ Year of Legends, visitors can enjoy a day of legendary entertainment including, Tommy Cooper and Tom Jones tributes acts in the ‘Legends Live Lounge’ along with musical entertainment in the town centre from RecRock who will be performing the hits of Welsh music legends such as Manic Street Preachers and Stereophonics. Families can also enjoy plenty of storytelling from a range of mythical creatures, as well as meeting some brilliant street entertainers.
The event will also feature a dedicated cheese market at the Twyn. Ten stall holders will be offering the chance to taste and purchase a range of speciality cheeses.
To support the event CADW are offering two for one entry to Caerphilly Castle, with the cheapest entrant going free.
