With 20 years of experience in leadership consultancy, Louise Gatenby is launching a new charitable mentoring programme ‘The Good Mentor’ which is on a mission to find and connect 1,000 not-for-profit leaders with 1,000 business leaders, mentors who are generously giving a couple of hours of their time each week to provide support and guidance during the Covid-19 crisis and beyond.

The Good Mentor will support purpose-led leaders in charity, health, education and other not-just-for-profit sectors who right now, more than ever before, need practical support on specific issues as well as external sounding boards. Based on a simple and effective platform which enables mentees and mentors to find each other, to connect and to work together. The initiative has been developed and will be totally funded by The Good Board and Mentorloop who are both part of the B Corporation movement – a new type of business that balances purpose and profit and they have formed a partnership based on a shared belief in business as a force for good.

Mentorloop is an innovative software business which matches mentors and mentees through an intuitive online platform and is successfully used by some of the UK’s largest companies such as BBC, Bupa and Just Eat. Founded in Australia, Mentorloop is headed up by Guy Lambert in the UK who is GM EMEA and North America.

The Good Board is an executive search and leadership consultancy focussed on the development of responsible and purpose-fuelled leaders and organisations. The business was founded by Louise Gatenby, a respected business leader from North Wales who also brings her own sense of purpose to several other boards in the charity and education sector.
