Cardiff-based public relations consultancy Brighter Comms has scooped two awards at the prestigious 2015 Wales Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) PRide Awards.
The agency took home the gold award for Best Healthcare Campaign for its work with the LifeSciences Hub Wales, and won silver in the main category of the night, Outstanding Consultancy.
Judges said Brighter Comms’ campaign for the Life Sciences Hub achieved “excellent” national media exposure and made a “potentially dry” science story “engaging”.
Brighter, whose other clients include Brecon Carreg and Portmeirion, won the silver award in the highly-competitive main category after just four years in business and only three years after winning gold in the Best Small Consultancy category.
Managing Director Sara Robinson said:
“We are delighted to have won these two awards, which are a testament to the hard work and dedication of our superb team.”
Hundreds of the region’s leading PR practitioners attended the annual ceremony in Cardiff’s City Hall last Friday, which was hosted by comedian Chris Corcoran.
The judging process for the PRide Awards is rigorous, with a national panel of industry expertsassessing the shortlisted entries and choosing the winners.
Chair of the CIPR Cymru Wales group Eoghan Mortell said:
“Each year we’re seeing competition for PRide awards in Wales becoming more intense, as rising numbers of talented communicators from many different parts of the public and private sectors put their work forward for recognition.
“That’s got to be healthy for the public relations industry here and will contribute to rising standards. Congratulations are due to all award winners and finalists. By showcasing their projects at PRide they are helping create a brighter future for PR.”
