Brewin Dolphin’s Charity Investment Portfolio Grows

Investment management firm Brewin Dolphin has been ranked the 5th largest charity investment manager in the UK in this year’s edition of the Annual Charity Fund Management Survey.

Rising two places, the firm, which has its Wales HQ in Cardiff, continues to see the popularity of its investment services for charities grow year on year.

With a 12 per cent increase from the charity sector since 2014, Brewin Dolphin looks after £3.17bn funds on behalf of over 1,800 charities across the UK.

The charity investment management team in Wales is spearheaded by Head of Brewin Dolphin Wales, David Myrddin-Evans and Russell Hooper, who have over 30 years of City investment experience between them.

This Cardiff office oversees more than £130m on behalf of charities, pension funds and institutions in Wales including the National Eisteddfod of Wales, the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, WNO, Tenovus, St John Cymru Wales and Christ College Brecon.

David Myrddin-Evans, Head of Brewin Dolphin in Wales said,

“We are thrilled that we have risen further up the league table of charity managers to 5th place, up from 7th place last year.  The low interest rate environment has required charity investors to consider the role of their investments and their policies carefully and we have worked hard to provide an appropriate portfolio solution for our charity clients in Wales.

“All our charity clients have their own bespoke portfolio, with every investment decision guided by their specific objectives.

“Earlier this year, we were able to add The National Eisteddfod of Wales to our portfolio due to our Welsh language capabilities, which is something we’re keen to build upon in 2016. We’re passionate about promoting the Welsh language and being able to deliver our service through the medium of Welsh is something that really differentiates us from other investment management firms in the marketplace.”

Brewin Dolphin has charity specialists in every region of the UK. The firm manages a large number of charity portfolios, as charities seek specialist advice and portfolio management with their specific objectives, personally delivered by the team managing their funds.
