Brecon Carreg will continue to support active lifestyles as title sponsors of the Cardiff Bay Run after extending their partnership with Run 4 Wales.

The Welsh water brand have committed for two more years as the 2019 edition prepares to welcome a record number of runners to Cardiff’s iconic Bay on March 31st. The Mother’s Day race will lift the curtain on a blockbuster year of distance running in Wales, and Brecon Carreg will be at the heart of the action.

Their natural Welsh water kept nearly 6,000 runners hydrated as the sun shone down on the 2018 race. The popular 10K is perfect for participants of all ages and abilities, and Brecon Carreg are encouraging potential runners to kickstart their year at the Brecon Carreg Cardiff Bay Run.

Jenna Bissell, Brecon Carreg Marketing Manager said:

“We’re delighted to be partnering for a second year with Run 4 Wales for the Brecon Carreg Cardiff Bay Run. The partnership ties in perfectly with our ‘Natural hydration for a healthy tomorrow’ philosophy, which includes encouraging and inspiring people of all ages and abilities to do a fun and healthy activity together. Our range of still and sparkling pure mineral water compliments a healthy lifestyle and is available throughout Wales.”

Entries sped past the 50 percent mark at the turn of the year and show no signs of slowing as runners set their fitness goals for 2019.

One thousand lucky participants moved quickly to take advantage of a Run 4 Wales multi event pass for the expanded 2019 Run 4 Wales 10K Series, which gets underway at the Brecon Carreg Cardiff Bay Run. The series will then head East to the ABP Newport Wales 10K before scenic seaside races at the Barry Island 10K and inaugural Porthcawl 10K.

The competition is heating up at this year’s Brecon Carreg Cardiff Bay Run. The race will incorporate the 2019 Welsh 10km Championships as part of a strong elite race on the flat course, which takes in the iconic Wales Millennium Centre, Norwegian Church, Cardiff Bay Barrage and Senedd building.

Run 4 Wales Chief Executive Matt Newman said:

“Brecon Carreg water has kept hundreds of thousands of runners hydrated at our events over the years and played a vital role in helping fuel healthier lifestyles for people in Wales.

“We cannot wait to work together with Brecon Carreg for the next two years to build on the success of the 2018 edition. The Brecon Carreg Cardiff Bay Run provides the perfect opportunity to blow off the cobwebs before celebrating Mother’s Day in the Bay.”
