Nicky Williamson, co-owner of The West Arms – Llanarmon DC, has been elected to the board of North Wales Tourism for the term of three years.

Nicky, who has worked in global hospitality for most of her career, wants to bring her knowledge back home to Wales where she grew up.

Nicky said:

“I’m thrilled to be joining this collective voice for North Wales Tourism at such a pivotal time in its development. There are so many undiscovered pockets of North Wales which need more love and attention.

“I look forward to bringing my ideas to the table and working closely with the board to continue welcoming more visitors to this breath-taking part of Wales as it strengthens its place as European Capital of Adventure.”

Nicky brings a rich career in hospitality to the board. Her experience includes working for InterContinental Hotels & Resorts and Starwood Hotels & Resorts (now Marriott International) in global leadership roles and with overall responsibility for Europe, Africa and Middle East.  Her roles covered specialisms including Hotel operations, Brand development, development of Emerging Markets and Leadership Development.

Alongside The West Arms, Nicky continues to offer consultancy to support businesses through Coaching, Training and Employer Brand development.

The North Wales Tourism Annual Trade Meeting took place on 15 May 2019 bringing together market leaders and tourism businesses from across North Wales.  Other members elected to the board included; Andrew Oughton, Plas Tan y Bwlch; Jan Harrop from PowerSolutions and Glenn Evans, Royal Oak and Waterloo Hotels.

Located in the village of Llanarmon DC, in the Ceiriog Valley, North Wales, The West Arms, a member of North Wales Tourism.  The hotel was bought and relaunched under a new brand in early 2018 by Nicky and Mark Williamson.

North Wales Tourism was established in 1991 to support the tourism industry in North Wales and become its voice. Its mission is to deliver more business to maintain a sustainable tourism industry in North Wales.
