Locals will be given priority to purchase new homes in Langland launching soon via Dawsons Estate Agents in Swansea

With Langland Bay right on the doorstep and Gower’s breath-taking beaches nearby, demand for homes at The Meadows on Higher Lane was expected to be high. Almost 300 people have so far registered interest in just 15 private sale homes being built by Edenstone Homes.

The homebuilder is exclusively partnering with Dawsons to market the properties, which are due to be released for sale at the beginning of February.

For the first 16 weeks those who already live, work or have an existing link to the Bishopston, Fairwood, Gower, Mayals, Newton, Oystermouth, Pennard, Penclawdd and West Cross areas will be given priority to purchase, providing it will be their main residence.

Edenstone sales director Adele McCoy said:

“New build homes in Langland are few and far between and when it comes to location it doesn’t get much better than where we’re building. Located close to the Gower Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, on the beautiful Langland Peninsula, and near to the Coastal Path, the homes at The Meadows will enjoy a simply stunning setting. Understandably, there’s a real buzz about the development – people have been keen to find out more about the properties, when they will be available and how soon they could potentially move in.

“The volume of enquiries we’ve received for the number of homes we’re building is phenomenal. We’ve been keeping those who’ve registered interest updated about our progress. Through our exclusive partnership with Dawsons, who will manage the sale of the properties, we will be able to ensure that local people are given priority to purchase.”

The Meadows will offer a selection of contemporary semi-detached and detached three and four-bedroom homes perfect for family living. Prices for the properties will be announced at the launch.

Homes will be sold via Swansea-based estate agents Dawsons, specifically, the dedicated Land and New Homes department on Swansea Marina.

Tim Kostromin, who heads the company’s land and new homes office, said:

“As a long-established, local company who has built up an excellent reputation, we aim to be associated with similar companies. Edenstone certainly meet this criteria being a Welsh Company with a reputation for delivering exclusive developments in some of the most sought-after areas.

“As local agents, we are only too aware of the shortage of homes, particularly new-build, in the area.  The Meadows in Langland has to be one of Swansea West’s best locations. The development brings quality homes in a breath-taking, coveted clifftop location which will assist in meeting local housing needs.”

Along with the private sale homes, there will be 16 affordable homes a part of the development.  Eight of these will be available through intermediate tenure and eight for social rent through Coastal Housing, the registered social landlord.

Edenstone will also invest more than £75,000 in the local community including £55,000-plus towards improvement works to the Wales Coastal Path, including maintenance and mitigation against coastal erosion. Edenstone will also contribute £20,400 towards road crossing improvements at Worcester Drive and associated bus travel infrastructure, as well as dedicated land for a new footpath.

A maintenance and management plan will ensure the translocation/retention of existing trees and hedges, with additional planting to be carried out. An open space with seating will also be provided for residents to enjoy.
