It’s the opportunity for over-18s to explore the Science and Discovery Centre without a child in sight.

Since the opening of the Science Capital extension and the introduction of over 50 brand new exhibits that are geared towards older children and adults, there has been a noticeable expansion in terms of the age range Techniquest now caters for.

The Adult Lates event takes place on Friday 10 December from 7 – 11pm, when over-18s get the chance to spend as much time on the interactive exhibits as they want, without needing to make way for children to take their turn.

Gareth McTiffin, Head of Commercial Development commented:

“These adult-only events at Techniquest proved really popular prior to the pandemic restrictions being put in place and we’ve had lots of people asking about whether they’d be coming back at some point.

“We’re really excited to have been able to stage one before Christmas as we know how keen many people are to meet up with friends and colleagues again. This is a great chance to do just that in an indoor environment, but one that’s airy and with plenty of space to move around in – as well as being a fascinating place to explore with the addition of so many new exhibits that can be enjoyed by adults of all ages.”

Tickets cost £15 and include a glass of prosecco on arrival plus entry to the Science Theatre and Planetarium on a ‘first come, first served’ basis. There will also be a pay-bar and food station on site  throughout the evening. Capacity is limited so advance booking via techniquest.org is essential.

Full details of what to bring on the night and what to expect in terms of Covid-safety can be found on the centre’s website.
