Priorities for the National Development Framework: Developing infrastructure, tackling inequalities and planning for the future.
THIS EVENT IS CPD CERTIFIED
This timely seminar takes place at a key time in the development of the National Development Framework (NDF).
It will be an opportunity for stakeholders and representatives from the Welsh Government to assess priorities as officials prepare the draft NDF looking at placemaking, economic growth, digital connectivity, transport, energy and housing.
Planned discussion focuses on how the framework might best address regional infrastructure inequalities in Wales – including opportunities for improving digital and transport infrastructure in rural regions.
Delegates will also consider how to address the challenges for ensuring that the planning system reduces inequality of energy infrastructure, as well as the impact of the NDF on wider policy aims such as mitigation of climate change and encouraging further development of renewable energy projects in Wales.
Further sessions will examine how best to meet the needs of Welsh communities through the NDF – focusing on creating sustainable places, ensuring the NDF compliments the aims of the Wellbeing of Future Generations Act (Wales 2015), provision of adequate levels of housing, and managing the impact of automation.
