Tech Trends: Virtual Reality & Digital Tools for Social Businesses

We would love you to join us at the next Social Business Network event, where we will be focusing on the theme of emerging technology and digital tools.

Social Business Wales Network North Wales

At Social Business Wales, we want to help our clients make the most of new technology. Explore the possibilities of virtual reality tech and find out how digital tools can help you market your social business and engage your community effectively.

Ground breaking experts in these areas will showcase practical examples of virtual reality products in action creating #techforgood and will give us an introduction to digital tools that social businesses can embrace. All of the experts on the day are able to offer the right clients further, bespoke support so this introduction may lead to something really helpful to your business.

Whether it's training staff, understanding your clients, showcasing your products, or engaging your customers/communities VR and/or new digital tools could help you and your business.

CEMET are based at the University of South Wales and can help companies with their emerging tech projects through funded development. They have used VR as a tool to create educational and training resources for their clients. Come and hear about Mo the Monkey!

Digital Communities Wales is one of our sister projects helping get people online. Lon, Deian & Simon from DCW will share their use of VR in social care homes with dementia patients and will deliver one of the many bite sized digital sessions that are available to social businesses on a bespoke basis.

Superfast Business Wales is part of Business Wales and is here to help Welsh businesses, including social businesses, make the most of online tools and platforms. They offer online courses and free, tailored support to help businesses to improve finances, reach more customers and simplify work processes.

The Year of the IoT (Internet of Things) – an introduction and demonstration – We are very happy to announce that we will also have Menter Môn taking part in this network event. One of the many projects they run is Arloesi Môn, a LEADER scheme that develops/pilots and implements schemes in collaboration with the community. They will very briefly introduce their work under the ‘tech theme’, specifically their work on the Year of IoT (in partnership with M-SParc and North Wales Tech), piloting this emerging technology in sectors including tourism and social care. We look forward to finding out how this technology is being deployed in different sectors and to hearing about their recently piloted ‘Digital House Project’. Menter Môn will be available to talk to throughout the informal networking time, in our tech demo area.

Meet at 10.30am for coffee and a catch up. Talks will start at 11am, followed by informal networking, a buffet lunch and time to look around the tech demo area. The event will end at 2pm.

We look forward to seeing you there!
