The Incoterms® Rules are an essential business tool for international trade because they define the risks and responsibilities of the parties when arranging delivery, import/ export clearance and freight contracts.
The New Rules, implemented from 01 January 2011, have been developed to take account of the recent fundamental changes in international trade. New rules have been created and old ones abolished; different wordings mean different obligations for the buyer and seller.
