Dr Rhian Hayward
Rhian joined Aberystwyth Innovation and Enterprise Campus as Chief Executive Officer in January 2017 from the role of Head of Knowledge Exchange at Aberystwyth University. Prior to joining the public sector Rhian worked in the biotechnology industry for 15 years in various commercial roles including project management, marketing and business development within start up and spin out companies in the south east of England. Companies that Rhian has worked at include Sense Proteomic Ltd, Procognia Ltd and Abcam plc. Rhian gained her DPhil at the University of Oxford and carried out postdoctoral research at the National Institutes of Health, U.S.A. She has a BSc. (first class) from King’s College, London.
Rhian is a Board member of the Welsh Industrial Development Advisory Board (WIDAB) and the Life Science’s Bridging Fund Scientific Advisory Board for Welsh Government. She was awarded the MBE in The Queen’s Birthday Honours list in June 2016 for services to entrepreneurship in Wales.
Helen Watson, Partner, Aaron and Partners LLP
Helen is head of the Employment team and an experienced advocate and accredited mediator.
She has extensive experience in all aspects of employment law, both contentious and non-contentious, including negotiating and drafting, TUPE disputes and large scale redundancies, trade union disputes, discrimination and harassment cases, and Employment Tribunal representation. Helen undertakes all of her own advocacy at tribunals and gained higher rights of audience in 2005.
Helen studied criminology and French at Keele University, before attending Chester College of Law. She also has a Masters degree in industrial relations and employment law. After successful spells at two other law firms, Helen joined Aaron & Partners in early 2007 as a Partner and Head of Employment Law. She is currently studying for a PhD in Employment Law, with a particular focus on equality legislation and discrimination law.
