Is Being Charitable Good for the Bottom Line?

Description

When you’re busy running a business, adding charity work to your list might feel like a nice-to-do rather than an essential.

But there’s plenty of evidence which suggests that when a business actively supports a charity it’s not just the charity which benefits – the business does too.

Undertaking charity work can help your brand image, as your potential customers will see the human face of your business. In fact, a study commissioned by Foresters Financial suggested that, when faced with a choice between two companies that offered products and services for the same price, 82% of consumers said their decision would be affected by whether a company engaged with charities and its local community.

Meanwhile, encouraging staff to support charity can help foster employee satisfaction as you give them the time and opportunity to help a favoured cause – something they may struggle otherwise to fit into their busy lives.

Join us to hear from the CEO of City Hospice, Liz Andrews, on why support from local businesses is vital to the charity and the families it helps. And we’ll hear from a business actively involved in charity work on the difference it really makes to them, above and beyond the feel-good factor.

There will also be plenty of chance for networking – come prepared to make lots of new connections!
