The former director of marketing for Tata Steel Europe has launched his own business based in North Wales.
Having retired from Tata Steel, Dr Terry Goodwin has set up Scenario Marketing in Hawarden, Flintshire with financial assistance from Tata Steel subsidiary UK Steel Enterprise. The firm will advise SME industrial clients on marketing their products, as well as larger organisations.
Originally from Cardiff, Dr Goodwin started his career in the steel industry as a research scientist in British Steel’s laboratories devising and testing new coatings for steel. He studied chemistry at Cardiff University.
“Marketing involves analytical skills, and taking a methodological approach, and this is where I can help businesses bring their products to market and maximise sales,” he said.
“I am delighted to be launching the new business and grateful to UK Steel Enterprise for their support and assistance.”
UKSE provided a grant and loan, which has been used to develop a web site for Scenario Marketing.
Glyn Thomas of UK Steel Enterprise commented:
“It is gratifying to see Terry’s skills being brought to bear to help businesses and we wish him every success in his venture.”
