Two hotels in North Wales have scooped prestigious awards from TripAdvisor. The Lawton Court Hotel, Llandudno, was named fourth best in the world for ‘Best Service’ in this year’s 2016 Travellers’ Choice awards for hotels. Also based in Llandudno, The Elm Tree Hotel has been ranked as the world’s second best ‘Bargain Hotel’.
The awards which are in their 14th year, recognise the world’s best hotels and look for outstanding qualities in the categories of Bargain, B&Bs and Inns, Luxury, Small Hotels and Best Service.
Winning hotels are singled out based on millions of reviews that TripAdvisor travellers from all over the globe leave on the site.
TripAdvisor spokesperson, James Kay said:
“These awards are based on guest feedback gathered throughout the year, so what sets these Welsh winners apart is not just a high standard of service and accommodation, but the fact that they deliver this day in and day out”.
Owners of the Lawton Court Hotel, Hannah and Scott Lawton-Jones said:
“We are so grateful and lucky to have welcomed so many lovely guests to stay over the last three years, and not forgetting the fantastic hardworking team we have that share the same principles as us”.
Tom Long, the Elm Tree Hotel’s owner, said he was “overwhelmed” at the accolade.
“We would like to say a big thank you to all our guests for your reviews.”
Outside of London, Llandudno has won more Travellers’ Choice awards than anywhere else in the UK, with eight hotels being awarded in total.
