IG Doors, the South Wales based manufacturer of high-quality composite doors, has become the latest business to sign up the My Development Zone e-Learning platform, which is designed and built by the Blaenavon based company RWA.
My Development Zone features a comprehensive catalogue of over 200 online courses, which allows e-Learners to develop their professional and personal skills, in line with their interests, role requirements, and career goals.
IG, which employs over 250 staff at its facility in Cwmbran, has been supplying doors to the new build, social housing, and refurbishment sectors for over 25 years.
During that time, the business has received many accolades, including ‘Investors in People’ status in recognition of its commitment to developing staff through in-house and external training measures to allow duties to be performed effectively.
The addition of the My Development Zone platform is another clear example of this staff training commitment, and will allow select staff within the business to develop and demonstrate their knowledge, whilst also recording CPD activity.
Commenting on the e-Learning solution, Alan Conway, operations manager for IG Doors, said:
“My Development Zone has come along at the perfect time for the business as we are due to move to our purpose built high-tech manufacturing facility in Oakdale in the coming months.
“This move will result in new jobs, so having a training system already bedded in, which can be used for site and staff inductions and ongoing training is a huge benefit.
“As we can assign training centrally, record staff progress, and produce instant reports, we are in full control of learning and development. The system also allows us to add custom content, which is a huge bonus, as we can upload courses on our products and processes to the system, which can be assigned and tracked in the same manner.”
