A booming Port Talbot veterinary practice has taken on two new members of staff to cope with the demands of local dogs, cats and other assorted small furries.

Forest Vets, which moved into the former Port Talbot Arts Centre in Theodore Road two years ago, has appointed Fabio Faria as Practice Manager and has also taken on a fourth new vet, Rob Grocott.

The practice has also welcomed a new tenant – renowned local dog trainer/behaviourist Colin Jones, better known as ‘The Welsh Dog Whisperer’. Colin will be running training classes at the site, as well as one-to-one sessions for more problematic cases.

forest-vets-1Forest Vets, which has another practice in Skewen, was first established in 2010 by Graham Walker and Dominic Johnson. The practice, which bought the Port Talbot property in 2014 thanks to a £270,000 loan from NatWest, now employs 14 staff at both sites.

Future plans include expansion of services at the new Port Talbot branch and a major refurbishment at Skewen.

Partner/Director Tim Ingham said:

“The business has really grown over the last couple of years and we’re looking forward to the next stage of its development. Employing people from the local community has a key role to play in ensuring that, as we keep expanding, we keep that personal touch.” I am proud to be part of such an exciting venture.

Jess Jones, Relationship Manager, NatWest, said:

“Graham, Dominic and Tim are passionate about the services they provide. We’re happy to be supporting such a successful business.”
