National Minimum Wage Set to Rise in April

The National Minimum Wage and National Living Wage are set to increase on 1 April 2017.

The current National Minimum Wage for those aged 25 and over is £7.20 and set to increase by 30p to £7.50. Elsewhere, from 1 April, the National Minimum Wage rate for other age groups are:

  • those aged 21 to 24 will receive £7.05 per hour at an increase of 10p
  • those aged 18 to 20 will receive £5.60 per hour at an increase of 5p
  • those aged 16 to 17 will receive £4.05 per hour at an increase of 5p
  • those on the apprentice rate will receive £3.50 per hour at an increase of 10p per hour
