Business News Wales – one of the UK’s fastest growing digital B2B news channels, is pleased to welcome Rachel MacManus and Connor Simmons to the team – they are joining the team to head-up the company’s recent investment in video production.

Journalist and film-maker Rachel MacManus has over 20 years’ media experience across print, online and TV output. She spent 17 years at the BBC, producing and directing for network news and factual programmes including The One Show and BBC Wales’ flagship consumer programme X-Ray, as well as working on Crimewatch specials, natural history programmes and observational documentaries.

Rachel joins to the team to oversee all production and the development of a new weekly video business program.

Rachel commented:

“Joining a fast-moving business like Business News Wales allows me to put my 20 years production experience to good use. With a passion for storytelling, short-form viral videos are the most powerful tool available in the media today. The opportunity for video has never been so relevant and I look forward to growing a number of video channels with the Business News Wales team over the coming months.”

Originally from Essex, Connor Simmons has a wealth of experience within the video industry. He joins the team as Producer and Videographer.

Having a keen eye for good content and visual storytelling, Connor has created content for clients in both the corporate and creative fields, from television to 360° music videos.

Connor’s ethos is simple when it comes to video, he says:

“Make it worth watching. Any story can be told in such a way as to make it worth the audience’s time and the clients’ money. Video, more so than any other marketing medium, has the ability to evoke a reaction in the consumer, use that ability to make your message resonate. “

“I am proud to join Business News Wales and to be part of launching its video content service.”

Commenting the appointments, CEO, Mark Powney, Business News Wales said;

“Both Rachel and Connor’s experience within the video market and adds a new skillset into our business. The decision to launch the video service will ensure our clients can achieve maximum exposure to targeted audience. What makes our solution so powerful is we have a ready-made business audience in Wales with Business News Wales on top of our extensive network of social media channels.

The launch kicks off on the 24th July with a new video interview series called ‘Business News Wales Meets’ – you can view the promotion here.

Furthermore, every week will see the inclusion of number video stories on the site, and later in August a brand-new business video program called ‘Business Week in Review”.
