Anglesey is to start investigating the possibility of transferring its museums and heritage sites into the hands of other organisations.

The County Council is now asking for expressions of interest from town and community councils, social enterprises, businesses, trusts and organisations with the appropriate resources, expertise and experience needed to run:

  • Oriel Ynys Môn, near Llangefni
  • Beaumaris Courthouse and Goal
  • Melin Llynnon and Roundhouses, near Llanddeusant.

In July, the Executive Committee agreed to review and consult on the way the Council provides museum and cultural services as it looks to find cuts of around £5.2m before the next financial year.
